Ben is an Archivist at the Whitman College and Northwest Archives where he teaches with historical collections, provides research support to students and to the community, and strives to make our local historical collections inclusive of all the diverse voices and experiences in the Walla Walla Valley. He listens because he likes to learn about people and because recording our personal and family stories is an invaluable resource for future generations.
Ben grew up in Glenview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and lived in both big cities and small towns before moving to Walla Walla in 2013. He enjoys gardening, playing petanque, being frustrated by Chicago sports teams, cats, playing guitar, and drinking IPAs. He is trying to run more but does not always enjoy it. He is afraid of motorcycles and poison ivy.
