HOW IT WORKS

SIGN UP FOR A 90
MINUTE INTERVIEW.
BE PRESENT. OUR LISTENERS WILL GUIDE THE CONVERSATION.
You can also schedule an interview by speaking with
The Walla Walla Public Library at 509-527-4550
WHAT TO EXPECT
The 90 minute interview reservation will include a 30 minute initial discussion (pre-interview) outlining what to expect, conversation topics and questions and a 60 minute interview.
Location: Most interviews take place in Walla Walla Public Library or the Whitman College Penrose Library. However, additional locations are possible upon request.
Before the interview begins, the interviewer will introduce themselves, describe the interview process, and ask you if you have a specific topic you would like to discuss. You will also have the opportunity to ask the interviewer a question or two about their life, background or interests, and why they have chosen to be involved in this project.
Your Listener will guide you through a conversation lasting up to 60 minutes. The length depends upon what you decide to share. You can choose to record your interview or not.
RECORDING, PRIVACY, ARCHIVES
Privacy considerations will be discussed at the beginning of the interview. You will have the option to be interviewed using an alias.
After your session, you will receive a copy of the interview recording (if you opted to record it). You can also choose to contribute your interview to a growing archive of stories from the Walla Walla Valley. We are so excited to be able to offer you this option and we hope that you’ll consider sharing your wisdom!
Choosing to share your interview recording will ensure that you and your story are represented not only in your family history, but also in Walla Walla’s history. In partnership with the Whitman College and Northwest Archives, we are seeking to build a diverse, multilingual archive that will provide a broader and more inclusive picture of Walla Walla. We hope this archive will also inspire future creative projects.
