Brandon is a Salvadoran student who moved to Walla Walla in January 2021. He graduated from United World College Maastricht, in the Netherlands, in 2020. At the moment, he is a second-year Psychology and Politics major at Whitman College. He listens because he wants to develop meaningful connections with members of the community, as well he believes that an important part of a person’s identity resides in the stories and experiences they have lived.
Brandon’s favorite things on Walla Walla are watching the sunsets while he is on walks downtown, playing volleyball with his friends, and taking pictures of the town’s landscapes. As an immigrant that has lived in different countries, Brandon knows how difficult a journey could be, therefore he believes that sharing a story is sharing a piece of yourself. This is what motivates him to create spaces where people are comfortable being themselves.
