Jara is an international student from Nicaragua, she has been in Walla Walla since 2022. She is currently a junior at Whitman College with an interest in pursuing a major in Sciences. Starting the summer of 2023 she will be working as an Intern for The Listeners Project: Queremos Escucharte.

She listens because she thinks that every place, every person has a story and it is worth listening to and sharing with others. In her free time, Jara likes reading, listening to music, baking, and gardening. During the school year, she works at the college and does volunteer reading books to kids in kindergarten with the Story Time program at Whitman.
